All about Durham Pelvic Physical Therapy

Since I started my own business this summer, I’ve wanted a distinct clinic name besides just my own. I’ll always be Dr. Rachel J so I wanted a company name too besides just Rachel J Physical Therapy & Wellness.

I must’ve spent hours thinking of adjectives that resonated with my vision and with what I hope that my patients feel in our sessions: empower, resilience, strong, invincible, fearless, etc.

But go figure, all those names were already taken by other PT clinics and besides that, none of them felt like they should stand alone as a company name because I want my patients to feel all of those emotions and more.

When I truly thought about what I want for myself and my company, it’s to make an impact here in my community. I want the women of Durham who are having pelvic symptoms to know that they can find help with me. I want them to feel empowered & resilient & strong & invincible & fearless & more after they resolve their pelvic symptoms!

I read that you shouldn’t put a location in your company name because you may move, and you shouldn’t put a specialty in your company name because you don’t want to pigeonhole yourself. But I moved to Durham very intentionally to settle down here. I don’t see myself going anywhere because I love this community. And my passion has always been the pelvic floor so that ain’t changing either! Plus, I loved the simplicity of Durham Pelvic.

So thanks for being here, at Durham Pelvic, I’m excited for this next phase of the biz!

💜 Dr. Rachel J
